I love the switch of sides, from Obama to Anonymous, Shepard Fairey has made using the same message. I fully expect a book of all the variants the Hope poster has generated some time down the line, it’s a real iconic image for our age, like Warhol‘s Cambell’s Soup Tins or the Smiley.

A couple of Hellboy images, again featured on Bad Librarianship. The top one is by Warwick Johnson Cadwell and the lower by Hellboy regular (although he’s just stepped down from that post) Duncan Fegredo. Looks like it could be connected to the forthcoming Hellboy in Hell book to be drawn by Mike Mignola himself.

Toby from New Analog Posters in Manchester contacted me to show these great posters they screen print for live music events in Manchester. You can buy all these and more – they have a Hammer Horror Music project which is a first for me – at their store newanalog.bigcartel.com. They also have a blog here with some content dear to my heart.
I made these for my boys over the last year or so, finally getting round to printing them up as posters for their bedroom. I claim no artistic credit for either aside from collecting the images from various multi-talented artists on the web and laying them all out. There have been several Star Wars ABC‘s attempted over the years and even more fine characterisations in a more child-friendly style. These images were mostly cribbed from JAKe, Joe Wight, Michael Fleming, Ben Ballestri and Steve Thomas. Images are of course all copyright Lucasfilm Ltd.
Saturday is the day when the weekly 2000ad prog lands on the mat and I always look forward to 30 minutes of sci-fi soap opera. Who’s literally jumping off the cover this week? Judge Dredd of course and who drew this cracking cover? Henry Flint, of course…

A package at the doorstep this morning yielded the next batch of posters to be signed for Scraffer.com and a copy of Henry’s new book ‘Broadcast’. This is the collection of doodles Henry did whilst in front of the TV and provided the artwork for my EPs over the last few years. Several of the pieces are featured and I get a mention but best of all – Henry had done a full page Dredd in profile on the inside page! The fanboy in me was grinning ear to ear.
The posters were multiple copies of the ‘Mad Man’ print of the image I coloured for the ‘One Man’s Weird… ‘ EP. For the thought bubble in the centre, Henry had drawn unique doodles on each poster so that each one is different. Here’s a gallery of 16 of the doodles.
I think these are all accounted for and will be sent out on Monday to everyone who has pre-ordered, there are still some left though if you fancy one.

And here it is! After at least 18 months since I supplied a quote to Noah Uman for his reissue of ‘The Medium Is The Massage’ celebrating 100 years of McLuhan‘s record of the book, it finally dropped through the letterbox this morning. It’s gorgeous, full deluxe mini LP style CD sleeve, 40 pg booklet and all in the style of the original (check my copies of the LP and books below).
I’m sharing page space with some pretty esteemed commentators too: Warhol, Woody Allen, Steinski, Don Joyce, Jello Biafra, DJ Spooky… The CD is out on Five Day Weekend (who also have releases from Edan, Mr Chop and the ’80 Blocks From Tiffanys’ DVD) on December the 12th. Well worth it, a unique record, history, literature, social commentary, cut and paste and comedy all rolled into one.
