The cover image was a Part 2 illustration of Sun Ra playing his space harp and was scanned off of a fax that got sent to me by Vadim. Sections of a circular Stockhausen score were used for the on body labels and an early attempt at a bit of Blue Note-ish typography with the title all contributed to a bit of a mess that was printed in two not exactly complimentary colours.

Rather like the content, which was gathered from all over the place, this is one of those compilations that can only exist at the crossroads of musical styles, the moment when something is forming and you can see common threads in different artists’ work. They will probably never share the same tracklist space again or maybe lifelong connections will be made but this was put together when ‘trip hop’ was a dirty word but real, instrumental UK produced Hip Hop was coming into it’s own and feeling bold enough to start adding rappers over it’s beats. Here I’ve included a couple of early designs for the cover with more emphasis on the type which are nice if a bit dull.
