Another Vadim side project with the Antipop Consortium and DJ Primecuts – I took the images and inspiration for this (and the album) from a clutch of L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui’ magazines I was given by my mother-in-law. They were full of odd images of technical things, plans and great photos from the 60’s and the cover is just one of the many images I plundered for releases on Jazz Fudge, Ninja and Ntone. I really like this and it turned out perfectly, the black and white just makes it look like a classy product to my mind. The CD booklet kind of looks like a brochure for some 60’s lifestyle or entertainment center and the on-body labels for both the CD and the vinyl are just perfect. I love the European-ness of is, largely down the the aforementioned architecture magazines the images are taken from.
Vadim released the instrumental versions as ‘The Instrumentalist’ for which I inverted the designs. I’ve also included an early version of The Isolationist sleeve with an image that I later reused on The Herbaliser’s ‘Very Mercenary’ LP cover.
